A port day in Basseterre, St Kitts

Ok, so after leaving Madeira, we had 5 full days at sea, crossing the Atlantic. By the time we got to Basseterre, St.Kitts, we could hardly wait to get off the ship!

We were slightly disappointed that there wasn't much to do in Basseterre, after walking around the town trying to find a higher-than-factor-15 suncream, (it was 36Âșc outside!) we took a minibus trip to Cockleshell Bay.

When we got to the bay we had cocktails at the beach bar, a 'Nevis Peake' was the signature cocktail, consisting of rum, kaluha, baileys and pina colada mix. It sounds a bit suspect but it was sooo nice, especially with the hot weather. The water was amazingly clear, we could see fishes around our feet and picked up some really pretty shells to display in the bathroom at home.

All in all, it was a beautiful Caribbean island, but there isn't much to do there in my opinion other than have a day on the beach.
